Description
"Albatross". Albatross with the Southern Cross stars behind. Pauline Thompson was a New Zealand artist, lived 1942-2012. This aspect of her life is reflected in this painting. The Southern Cross constellation is a distinctive feature of the Southern Hemisphere sky. The albatross is a hardy long distance migrational bird that lives on the harsh Southern New Zealand coasts.
