Description
This bird specimen is a syntype for the species "Lichenostomus (Caligavis) subfrenatus salvadorii". A syntype is a specimen in a series or collection of specimens upon wich the description and name of a new species is based, where there is no designated holotype.

This bird is found on Papua New Guinea in moist tropical and subtropical forests. It is commonly known as the "Black-throated Honeyeater".
