Description
This specimen is a syntype for the species "Lasiorhinus krefftii barnardi". A syntype is a specimen in a series or collection of specimens upon wich the description and name of a new species is based, where there is no designated holotype.

It is otherwise known as the Hairy-nosed wombat. This is a critically endangered species, now found only in a small area in Queensland, Australia, but historically had a much wider range across Eastern Australia.
