Description
This specimen is a holotype for the species "Nyctimene robinsoni", otherwise known as the Queensland tube-nosed bat. A holotype is the single type specimen upon which the description and name of a new species is based.

These bats are found along the North Eastern coast of Austalia. They have raised tubular nostrils, giving them their common name. The roost solitarily, an unusual trait in bats.
