Description
This specimen is the neotype for the species "Macropus giganteus giganteus", otherwise known as the Eastern Grey Kangaroo. A neotype is a single type specimin upon which the name and description of a species is based when the origional holotype has been lost or destroyed, or an original specimen was never cited.
The Eastern Grey Kangaroo is found in Southern and Eastern Australia.
